'Cold Light Of Day' Trailer: Henry Cavill Leaps, Bruce Willis Gets Paid
Despite how the trailer for "The Cold Light of Day" starts, the movie isn't actually about Bruce Willis and Henry Cavill as a supportive father-son team, who enjoy a nice family vacation, yachting around the world and having a good old time. Turns out that daddy was in the CIA, and he didn't tell his family, including his son, until it was too late. Check out the "Cold Light of Day" trailer after the jump! "The Cold Light of Day" follows Cavill's character as he fights his way through Spain to fix the mess his father left for him and to save his family from their captors. The trailer offers a cool look at Cavill's action chops in a pre-"Man of Steel" movie. There's even a scene of him leaping building to building. It's not quite leaping tall buildings in a single bound, but 2013 is a long ways away. Also, has anyone else noticed that Bruce Willis seems to have a clause in all his contracts that stipulates that he'll work on a film for one day and no more? SPOILERS, I guess, but it looks like Willis is going to bite the dust pretty soon after revealing his secrets to Cavill. END SPOILERS. That's not a bad arrangement by any means. What did you think of the trailer for "The Cold Light of Day"? Are you on board for Cavill's next pre-Superman action movie? Let us know what you think of the trailer in the comments section below and on Twitter!

Netflix's U.K. bow beats expectations
LONDON -- As Netflix reported buoyant quarterly earnings on Wednesday, the company also revealed that its Jan. 9 launch in Blighty and Ireland had gone far better than expected. In a letter to shareholders, chief exec Reed Hastings said that in Blighty, Netflix was "seeing faster member growth than we did when we launched in Canada." Hastings noted that as membership increased, the company would be able to invest in more content. Netflix, whose major competitors in the U.K. are Amazon-owned Lovefilm and BSkyB, has secured a raft of deals with content providers, including exclusive deals with Lionsgate U.K. and Momentum Pictures, which will see pics such as "The Hunger Games" and "Shame" streamed on the service. Hastings noted that long-term competition "will likely be Sky Go offering Sky Movies and Sky Atlantic on-demand." "We believe we will compete very effectively against Sky Go given our advantages of being an unbundled, low-priced offering with broad content that is purely on-demand and personalized," Hastings said. "Over the coming years, we hope to be able to grow large enough to outbid Sky for one or more of the major studio output deals, as we did this year for MGM." Netflix's international revenue for 2011's fourth quarter was $29 million, which he said was in line with expectations. In the first quarter of 2012, Hastings added, "Combined investments in Latin America and the U.K. and Ireland will result in a total international loss of between $108 million and $118 million." "In future quarters, we intend to increase our investment in the content libraries in each market, just as we have done in Canada since launch," he added. So We Meet Again: LSU and Alabama Face Off For BCS National Championship
Tyrann Mathieu Here we go again... No. 1 LSU and No. 2 Alabama clash for the second time this season in the BCS Championship Game and familiarity breeds "hopefully offense," says Kirk Herbstreit, who will call tonight's game (8:30/7:30c, ESPN).Both teams "were a little bit cautious," Herbstreit says, when they met on Nov. 5 in Tuscaloosa, Ala., with LSU winning 9-6 in overtime without a single touchdown between them. "I think you'll see the defenses will still carry the day," but with so much time to prepare, "The game is going to be decided by big plays."LSU's Heisman Trophy finalist Tyrann Mathieu, a cornerback better known as "the Honey Badger," is the "X factor in the whole game," Herbstreit says. "It's almost like he has a sixth sense, whether it's deflecting a pass or knocking the ball loose and getting a key fumble." For Alabama, Herbstreit says the quarterback is the key. "Can AJ McCarron show the moxie and the mental toughness to sit in that pocket and deliver accurate throws when he knows that defense is pinning their ears coming after him?"Alabama did move the ball downfield in the previous match-up, but Herbstreit says the Crimson Tide's focus has to be on finishing drives. "If you look from the LSU 35 and in, Alabama didn't do anything and [Heisman Trophy finalist] Trent Richardson didn't do anything, so I think he's very determined to be able to have a big night."No matter what happens, this game between Southeastern Conference powerhouses is one "we'll be talking about for 10 or 15 or 20 years," Herbstreit says. "You put two SEC schools in that stadium, when both are playing for bragging rights - in the South they all want to win the Sugar Bowl and now you throw the national championship on top of it - I'm telling you, I don't know if we've ever seen anything like it. The last thing you want to do is come out all fired up and you win the first seven minutes of the game, and you think you're up 10-0, but it's a looong way to go."Consider the SEC title game in early December, where Georgia led the Bengal Tigers 10-0 before getting blown out 42-10. "Teams have been able to play with LSU for a half," Herbstreit says, "and they think, 'Boy, we got 'em this time.' They get so excited, but what they don't understand is LSU doesn't blink. They're like a heavyweight boxer that just sits there and you think you got them and they just keep coming and coming and there's nothing you can do. It'll be interesting to see if Alabama can go the long haul with them, because nobody else has."Subscribe to TV Guide Magazine now!
