NFL Unapologetic For Raider Game Cut-Off
Tough luck, Raiders fans. That’s pretty much what the NFL offered in the way of a non-apology today. Fans in the LA market were apoplectic yesterday afternoon when KCBS-Channel 2 switched away from an exciting Oakland-Buffalo game with 27 seconds left and the score 35-31 Raiders. “Los Angeles is a secondary market (read “doesn’t have its own team”) for the Chargers,” NFL TV spokesman Dan Masonson explained. “All secondary markets must carry in their entirety all road games of their local team. We have nothing to add, that is the policy.”Instead of the game’s final seconds, LA fans saw about three minutes worth of commercials and thengot the kickoff of a game between their rivals the San Diego Chargers and New England. At the bottom of the screen came the scrolling update: Buffalo took a 37-35 lead with 14 seconds left. For LA viewers, the game-winning –or losingfor Raider fans– score had come somewhere between commercials forMcDonald’s and Nissan.Watch The Hangover 2 For Free
