What's a good guitar tuning to get a nice spaced out black metal sound but still really thick and heavy?

That's it really. Just need a guitar tuning. I've been playing in A#
and the "black metal" like parts tend to just sound muddy. It could
very well just be that my pick ups are no good, but figured I'd ask.
