what does it say in the beginning of sleepyhead?

What is the high pitched voice saying in between "And everything is
going to the beat, and everything is going to the beat, and everything
is going" and "And you said, it was like fire around the brim"? I
thought it sounded like "peas and corn" but I really have no idea.
